The Washington Christmas Revels
is almost upon us! Seats are filling up but they're still available, so get your tickets NOW! Remember: the 'cheap seats' offer one of the best views in the house. The back seats in Lisner are sharply raked, offering you the clearest and fullest view of the stage! Cost shouldn't be an excuse not to come; a movie with popcorn and a soda costs more than $18 these days.

Some of you have wondered what the best way to get to the Revels is. I figured I'd give you that information and more: think of it as a complete guide to coming to see the Revels!

Lisner Auditorium, where the Revels is held, is located at 730 21st St. NW Washington, DC 20006 on the George Washington University campus. Getting there is a pain, as most driving in DC is. Moreover, finding parking is a difficult and expensive endeavor down there. I strongly recommend taking the Metro to see the Revels.

The Foggy Bottom-GWU metro stop is only a very short walk away from Lisner; I plan on taking it every day to my tech rehearsals and I suggest you take it there for the performances.

For those of you planning on eating in the area, there are plenty of great restaurants:

Lindy's Bon Appetit offers a number of bizarre and wonderful burgers, including the "Burl Ives" which cracks me up because it is basically a hot dog on a hamburger. My favorite is the "Davy Crockett".

For slightly less greasy fare you can visit the 2000 Pennsylvania Ave Shopping Center, which has an Au Bon Pain (it's the right time of year for their delicious pumpkin soup) and a Bertucci's as well as many other restaurants and an ice cream place.

Right next to that is a T.G.I. Friday's, for those of you wanting some american chain-style wings.

For really cheap stuff, the GWU Marvin Center is right across the street from Lisner's side door and has a number of fast food places.

I look forward to seeing you at the show; it's going to be really good this year!
